Crafted of ground marble, and then hand painted in greate detail, these chess pieces represent the Celts and the Vikings at the battle of Clontarf in 1014. In the Battle Clontarf, the Irish Celts defeated the Vikings in a pitched battle. The pieces show Irish and Viking soldiers ready for combat. They are hand crafted by the the famous Studio Anne Carlton, and have high collectible value. These pieces are made of pure ground marble, and then painstakingly hand-painted. The King is 4 1/2 inches Tall. A chessboard with 2 inch squares is recommended for use with these large chess pieces. Board is shown for displaly purposes only.
